GEORGE FITCH MEMORIAL TROPHY 1972
George Fitch was a Railway Union member before moving to Cork and joining Cork Harlequins. He donated a Cup called the Fitch Trophy to be played for by the two clubs once a year. The last markings on the cup were up to 1997 however it was played for in 2004 in Dublin at the opening of the new Railway Union pitch at the beginning of the season. Davy Harte made his 1st XI debut for Quins as a 16 year old, with Cork Harlequins winning the cup that year. The cup remained in the trophy cabinet in Cork Harlequins until Stephen Hiles from Railway Union suggested a re-launch of the trophy as a Junior Cup in 2018. The U13 boys played each other and Cork Harlequins won to bring the trophy back to Cork.
