Cricket
Cork Harlequins Cricket Section is a vibrant part of Cork Harlequins Club. Formed in 1967, the club is family orientated with parents and offspring playing for various sides on most weekends.
We have 5 adult teams who play in the Premier, First, Second and Third Divisions of the Munster Cricket Union. Our 1st team also play in the Leinster Cricket Union. Our Senior team have won the Premier league on three occasions and won a historic treble of Munster Senior League, Munster Senior Cup and Munster T20 Cup in 2022. We reached the All Ireland T20 finals on two occasions, in 2021 and 2022.
We are always striving to develop our club and we place a particular emphasis on our youth. The majority of our Senior squad are aged between 18 and 23 and it is our policy to encourage anyone who shows pride and passion in the club and an appetite for success through hard work. The fruits of this can be seen in the fact that we have numerous members on the MCU U13 and U15 Interprovincial squads and numerous members who graduate to the MunsterHeat and Munster Reds squads.
We continue to develop our facilities and we have hosted Interprovincial matches and an Ireland U17 T20 match.
We welcome all grades of players, whether novices or veterans! We have a highly qualified coaching staff and are keen to help you develop into the player you want to be.
Youth
Our youth section is at the heart of everything we do in the club. We believe every child has potential and is entitled to an opportunity to flourish in a safe and enjoyable environment. We coach children from 5 years of age upwards.
Our team of youth mentors consists of Level 1 to 4 ECB/CI qualified coaches, aided by players from our first team. We are one of a few clubs in Ireland with a ECB Level 4 qualified coach, and it is an example of how much effort we put into our youth section. A club is only as strong as the players it produces. All of our participants are aware of the standards expected of them under CI rules on Good Practice in Child Protection. Details of our club’s code of conduct and anti-bullying policy can be found on the ‘Club Information’ followed by ‘Code of Ethics’ tabs on this website.
