Cork Harlequins Grant Support
Here at Harlequins, we pride ourselves on our sense of community. We want to ensure the future of Harlequins for the youth of today.
In 2014 we received funding from the Sports Capital Grant Programme to help us with building that future. Our first step was to update the playing facilities by replacing the lower astro-turf with a new synthetic surface. Through the hard work and efforts of many, the new surface was laid in June 2016.
The club are waiting to hear if they have been successful with the Sports Capital Grant Programme 2021. The club have been successful in recent years with grants from the local authorities to help with the continuous improvement of the club’s facilities.
- 2018, €10,000 from the Cork County Council, Kitchen Upgrade
- 2019, €14,000 from the Cork County Council, Pitch Upgrade, resanded
- 2019, €1,000 from the Cork City Council, Purchase of 3 benches
- 2020, €5,500 from the Cork City Council, Construction of Viewing Stand
- 2021, €24,000 from Hockey Ireland/Sport Ireland Resilience Fund
But we don’t want to stop here – we want to continue to improve our facilities including the club house and dressing rooms. Our fundraising events will be ongoing so that we can truly create a top-class sports facility for all of our members and the community.
